Penny focuses her practice on the biotechnology and life science industry. She represents medical device, biologic, and pharmaceutical companies, and research institutions in a wide range of legal matters that arise in connection with the development, protection and commercialization of their unique products and technologies. Having served as lead attorney on several M&A transactions, Penny has the experience to identify and aggressively manage transactional risks.
As an experienced Life Science attorney, Penny understands that due diligence for Life Science companies requires extensive review of a variety of regulatory matters including clinical research, research billing regulatory approval, governmental inspections, and the sale of products and the laws impacting these areas.
How does that translate to the business issues you face today?
Penny’s experience as in-house counsel for a global pharmaceutical company and as a partner in a top 100 law firm provided her with an understanding of issues and challenges in the regulatory, legal and commercial arenas. She supplies Life + Tech Law clients with counsel and strategic advice on a wide array of matters such as licensing and collaboration agreements, clinical trial research issues and contracting on a domestic and international basis, product launch initiatives, investigator-initiated studies, manufacturing and distribution agreements, import-export, regulatory compliance, compassionate use, and subject protection and privacy. Contributing to Penny’s knowledge of the life sciences industry is her nursing experience in bone marrow transplants and renal dialysis.
